Software

Here is a little bundle of software I have written for TNE. Unless specified otherwise all software here requires installment of .NET Framework 2.0 or later

  • Traveller Beam Factory
  • Tradepost
  • Free Trader (in progress)

Traveller Beam Factory makes it possible for you to design all kinds of beam weapons for starships.

Traveller Beam factory exist in two versions. Version 1.1 and 1.2

Version 1.1 utilizes an Access database. The advantage with this is that if you have Access installed you may edit the database directly.

Version 1.2 requires SQL server. It may be downloaded free here.

Tradepost handles some of the more boring parts of ship management in Traveller. It keeps track of sallaries, buying and selling of cargo and fuel consumption to a degree.

Tradepost is written for TNE, but it can handle CT/MT ships too.

Downloads:

Tradepost 2.3

Tradepost 2.3b (patch to the former)

You need to download 2.3 to use 2.3b as it only contains the exe file. Extract the file and copy it to the Tradepost folder.

Tradepost will be replaced sometime in the near future by Free Trader.

Free Trader will take over where Tradepost left off. Here is a feature list:

- Freight
- Variable passenger ticket prices
- Campaign calendar which means:
+ Some goods may expire on date
+ Departure date must be plotted in advance when selling tickets
+ Morgage and sallary will come up at certain dates
- Various sallary schemes
- Crew quality counts as they will run and do background tasks
- Wear value will affect efficiency and the chance of getting good
crew and passengers
- Charter contracts
- In-system travel
- On-board supply as per FF&S2 (Traveller 4)
- Fuel Consumption
- Subcrafts

The trade system will see a major upgrade. Supply and demand will be
more realistic (far as possible as per the limited UWP info gives). No
more selling 20 tons of consumer electronics to a system with low
population. Naturally they would only need a ton or two a year.

This version will be closer to TNE as the crew skills are quite different from other versions of Traveller.
