A mine field are dangerous. A mine field in the hands of a cold calculating mind is even more dangerous. Controlling and making the best out of a given minefield the minefield needs capability which are too expensive to include in every mine of the field. Here's the Autonomous Mine Controller (AMC) comes in. A single controller can controll several hundred mines at once, keeping track of their whereabouts, status and lastly decide which mine are to attack a given target.

At late TL 8 and onwards it is possible to either attach or integrate in the design process HUD sights to most types of firearms. A HUD sight, or more commonly known as smartgun adapter or something similar has been available in most RPG SciFi since early 90s. However Traveller haven't gotten any until MgT. However, FF&S would really meed such sight system interegrated into its design processes.

The RCES needed a weapon they could field during entering suspect vessels or other places were conditions are cramped. And most importantly it needed to be able to defeat most armored robots that could be encountered. The "Grenade Launcher Close Support" or GLCS for short was born. Also called suicide gun by operatives.

The Stranton sniper is a powerfull gauss sniper that really will stop the opposition in their tracks. The 20mm slug exits the weapon in almost 2400 meters per second and it can penetrate up to 7 centimeters of armor.
